Old Yeller Days
On the first weekend of October, Mason celebrates and honors Fred Gipson, author of "Old Yeller" and native son of Mason. The Old Yeller dog parade is the featured attraction, but don't miss out on such things as the pie baking contest, best trick, best costume, the arts fair and an abundance of tasty food. The event is sponsored by "Friends of the Library", with all proceeds going to assist the Mason County Library.
Accompanying Old Yeller Days is the Lion's Club 5k/10k/walk/run. The synergy between the two events brings in lots of energy, enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.
